Now it's Guentzal and Rust. I can't say enough about Rusty. Clutch player.
With a guy hurt as bad as Werensky, how do they allow him back in the game? Love hockey players, but the NHL never ceases to amaze me how little they care about the health of their players. He should have been on his way to the hospital. |

5 or 6 years ago Crosby probably would of lost his sh!t there. It might of even thrown the rest of his game off last night...but....this isnt 5 or 6 years ago.
The composure that Sullivan instilled in the team upon his promotion last year is like a 6th skater on the ice for the Pens. Keeping their heads in check makes them that much better. |

Teams should be focusing more on Malkin if they want to upset and mess up a star player, or Letang when healthy... Sid is so hard to get under the last 2-3 years. |

Shame to see Werenski out. Kid is everything I hoped for in Pouliot.

In USA Hockey the rulebook gives officials the leeway to stop a play dead if the seriousness of the injury dictates so. This is how it should be in the NHL, it's not. Referees can't create their own rules on the spot. It wasn't a bad call. It's a bad rule.
The NHL has the rule too. Rule 8.1 states
"In the case where it is obvious that a player has sustained a serious injury, the Referee and/or Linesman may stop the play immediately"
It's later in the rule but it is in there. |

I made a comment about how, essentially, Dubinsky is a scumbag and Crosby wasn't surprised it was him. Some of you know how to respond to that comment, and some of you don't. Quit projecting, little Tanner. |

According to Bourque, they probably would have blown it dead before the goal was scored if he simply stayed down but his trying to get up and play probably did him no favors. Sad but that's rules and penalties dictated by severity of injury world that the NHL exists in.

Sully is the glue that holds this team together, and keeps them playing the right way...How many stupid games, & series did the Pens lose due to stupid undisciplined penalties & plays???
Without our coach establishing this teams' identity then we would still be going nowhere. |

Sucks that Werenski got hurt, I'm a fan of his (rooting for the Pens, though).
The Flyers had a similar thing in 2008. Patrick Thoresen got hit in the testicles with a slap shot on the PK. As he laid writhing in pain, Washington scored on essentially a 5-on-3, tying up a game they would win in OT. Basically, unless the referee thinks that the player is in danger (as opposed to pain), play will not be stopped until his team gains clear possession of the puck. Since this wasn't the case, it was the correct call on the goal. |

I can't keep up with all the holeinone's on here, but generally, if you attack someone's team for no reason, you are a garbage poster. |

If he passed the tests and told them he was good to go back in, what should they do? I doubt they put a gun to his head and told him they'd kill his family if he didn't go back in. |
